Indigenous Support Fund

The Indigenous Support Fund facilitates听the Yaitya Tipanthi Scholarship and听the Yaitya Tipanthi Bursary.听

Established in 2021,听the purpose of the Indigenous Support Fund听is to improve access to tertiary study and facilitate听better higher education outcomes for听Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander听students.听

Through the scholarship and bursary we can reduce the financial burden and create stronger foundations for our students鈥 success in life and their career. This will ensure they have the tools they need to excel in their chosen field of study.

Indigenous Support Fund

Providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with better support systems as they start University is one of the priorities of Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Peter H酶j AC, and was the motivation behind the new Indigenous Support Fund launched in 2021.

Growing up Kelly dreamed of futuristic technologies and loved building things. Whether it was constructing LEGO creations or pulling apart anything that broke to see how it worked, it was this early passion that led him to study engineering at the University of 六合彩开奖数据.

鈥淢y parents have always been important influencers and supporters on my journey. My Dad is an architect, and my Mum has a special skill of bringing her ideas to life by connecting with Aboriginal artists,鈥 Kelly said.

鈥淚n high school I joined the STEM program at Brighton which provided me with great opportunities to participate in both the SUBS in Schools Technology Challenge and the F1 in Schools STEM Challenge. The submarine and Formula 1 programs enabled me to develop my skills while doing what I enjoyed most, building.

鈥淲hile I am only in my second year of my degree, when I finish I hope to work in aerospace engineering or 3D printing technological development, which I think has great potential.

I am so grateful for the scholarship which has enhanced both my university and work life and has made me a better student. It has also provided me with more flexibility to give-back; last year I mentored high school students competing in the F1 in Schools Challenge.Kelly
