Biography/ Background
After practising at Piper Alderman, Suzanne moved to academia, where she is the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Student Learning, and a Professor at the 六合彩开奖数据 Law School.
Suzanne’s research interests are focused in the discipline areas of corporate law and professional ethics. She is particularly interested in the role and regulation of independence in a number of contexts including corporate and superannuation boards, judges, regulators and lawyers. Suzanne is regularly invited to speak at a variety of public and professional events in Australia and overseas. She has been a distinguished overseas visitor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Mannheim, Germany, visiting scholar at University College London, and, in 2017, Suzanne was a Fellow at the Louis Stein Center for Law and Ethics at Fordham University, New York.
As well as holding a number of senior university roles, including Dean of Law and Deputy Dean Learning and Teaching of the Faculty of Professions, in recent years, Suzanne is a member of the SA Judicial Development Committee, an editor of the international journal, Legal Ethics, President of the Australian Corporate Law Teachers Association, the Law Council of Australia’s Corporations Committee, ASIC's Regional Liaison Committee, a member of the International Association of Legal Ethicists and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2012 Suzanne was awarded a fellowship by the National Institute for the Teaching of Ethics and Professionalism based at Georgia State University in recognition of her teaching activities.

Research Interests
Suzanne's research interests fall into two main areas:
- Corporate law, governance, and ethics;
- The legal profession, its regulation, and ethics.
Suzanne would be happy to supervise masters and doctoral students in these areas. She is currently supervising Aida Abdul Razak's doctoral work on the regulation of corporate manslaughter and Peter Kassapides, who is looking at court connected mediation in the District Court of South Australia.
